Nothing I want to copy exactly, but I'd like to somehow merge the old "loud" styles with the newer "subtle" styles. I've also attached a few modern book covers I like. I'm very open to a modern interpretation, with only some elements of those classic posters. It would be nice to capture SOME of that spirit (however minimally), but I also don't need the cover to be a 100% knockoff of the 1980s retro stuff. ![]() ![]() ![]() Movie posters from that era, like the ones I've attached, might serve as a jumping off point for inspiration. The book is a modern day horror/suspense novel, but it's also a throwback to the slasher movies that were popular in the early 1980s-think Friday the 13th, The Burning, Sleepaway Camp, etc. I'm looking for something simple that will make for an effective thumbnail when people browse books on Amazon, but also something that's interesting and eye catching as the cover of a physical book too. ![]()
